In a game of word association, former nurse Andrea Morseburg describes Cedars-Sinai in no uncertain terms: caring, expertise, excellence and committed.

She would know. Morseburg spent seven years in the 1990s working in the Department of Pediatrics, treating some of the hospital’s most fragile and vulnerable patients who’d been diagnosed with HIV and AIDS. Much of her work was also focused on the Division of Infectious Diseases.

The experience left such an imprint on her spirit that she made a bequest to Cedars-Sinai to support nursing programs, ensuring her legacy today and far into the future.

“I designated Cedars-Sinai in my living trust very intentionally. I wanted to make sure that the hospital had the resources needed to educate nurses—including support they need to earn advanced degrees,” Morseburg shared. “I have such a connection to Cedars-Sinai. I spent a wonderful part of my career there.”

Morseburg, who is now a commercial actor, designated the money be split evenly between the Andrea Morseburg Advanced Nursing Degree Scholarship Fund and the Andrea Morseburg Nursing Support Fund. Her goal is to help foster greater learning opportunities for future generations of nurses.

“I want all that I’ve worked so hard to earn to benefit others—in particular, nurses out there who are just like me and love Cedars-Sinai. If they were to ever read about my having established these nursing funds, they could say, ‘Oh wow! Andrea did that. I can do that, too.’”
